Resumo
O e-book analisa a atuação do Polo UAB Maragogi no fortalecimento da Educação a Distância (EaD) como política pública de democratização do acesso ao ensino superior. Aborda as práticas pedagógicas, o acompanhamento discente e o papel da tutoria presencial como estratégias fundamentais para combater a evasão e assegurar a permanência acadêmica. O trabalho descreve a gestão, a secretaria acadêmica e as parcerias institucionais firmadas com IFAL, UNCISAL, UFAL, FIOCRUZ e UNB, destacando ações práticas em cursos como Educação Física, Matemática (com uso de software GeoGebra) e Pedagogia, além de momentos de acolhimento discente e defesas de Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC). Conclui-se que o polo consolida-se como um espaço regional de mediação e apoio indispensável para a qualidade do ensino público e gratuito.

ABSTRACT
This e-book analyzes the role of the UAB Maragogi Pole in strengthening Distance Education (EaD) as a public policy for democratizing access to higher education. It addresses pedagogical practices, student monitoring, and the role of in-person tutoring as fundamental strategies to combat dropout rates and ensure academic retention. The work describes the management, academic registry, and institutional partnerships established with IFAL, UNCISAL, UFAL, FIOCRUZ, and UNB, highlighting practical activities in courses such as Physical Education, Mathematics (utilizing GeoGebra software), and Pedagogy, alongside student welcoming events and Undergraduate Thesis (TCC) defenses. It concludes that the pole establishes itself as an essential regional space for mediation and support, ensuring the quality of free public higher education.
